Producers Guild Awards: tutti i vincitori

Il trionfatore dei Producers Guild of America è senz'altro Guillermo Del Toro regista di The Shape of Water, vincitore come miglior lungometraggio.

Del Toro, che non era presente alla cerimonia per stare vicino al padre malato in Messico, ha inviato una sua dichiarazione letta da Richard Jenkins interprete di The Shape of Water: "Chiedo il permesso a tutti di dedicare un momento di questa serata a mio padre e mia madre, al quali devo la mia infinita gratitudine, e come genitore mi auguro che i miegli figli possano seguire i loro sogni e fantasie e possano essere al mio fianco quando arriverà il mio trapasso".

Anche il produttore J. Miles Dale ha ringraziato i membri del PGA per la loro attenzione verso questa strana storia del film ambientata nel 1962 e riguardante la particolare amicizia fra una protagonista muta e una creatura marina.

Ricordiamo che Producers Guild Awards conta 8200 membri e per molti anni ha aperto la strada ai film che correvano per l'Oscar. Infatti, c'è stta negli anni una forte correlazione tra i due premi, anche se negli ultimi due anni l'Oscar non è andato a La la land  e The Big Short, ma a Moonlight e Spotlight.
